Finding a need and a desire for classical ballet training in Greeneville, Lori Ann Sparks opened the doors of Central Ballet School, Inc in September 2002. Having been a ballerina herself, Lori Ann felt compelled that no person should be deprived of the passion and love for ballet and what it provides for one's soul, mind, and spirit.
Central Ballet School's mission is to provide excellent technical instruction of classical ballet to all ages in a Christian environment and to instill a love and appreciation for the art. Style of training offered is a combination of Royal Academy of Dance and Russian style of classical ballet. The School is a member of the Tennessee Association of Dance and is the home of Central Ballet Theatre (CBT).
In addition to ballet, other classes offered at Central Ballet include tap, jazz, tumbling, and buck-style clogging.
Ballet - Lori Ann Sparks
Jazz - Connie Black, Associates Degree in Dance, teaches history of jazz repertory and modern dancing.
Tap - Amy Durand, trained in New York, teaches tap technique to children through adults
Buck-style Clogging - Betty Ann Foulks, not traditional but more aerobic, is up on the toes, fast & energetic
